2006 Six a Side Tournament

Competition Rules

  1. The Tournament will be run on a league basis, followed by quarter finals as required, then semi finals and a final on a knockout basis.
  2. Normal FA rules apply except for:
    1. All games will be started and restarted with a kick off. You can not score direct from a kick off.
    2. No offside.
    3. For Under 7s,8s,9s,10s only, back passes to goalkeepers are allowed
    4. 5 yards must be given in all dead ball situations
    5. For goal kicks: Under 7s and 8s to be taken as fly kicks; Under 9s and 10s to be taken from penalty area line and all other age groups from the goal line
    6. Goalkeepers must release the ball by throwing (except U7s and U8s who can fly kick)
  3. Matches will be five minutes each way, the first named team have choice of ends or kick off.
  4. Points will be awarded: 3 points for a win and 1 point for a draw.
  5. Each team can register a maximum of 8 players (7 for Under 16) who must be under the appropriate age for which they are competing in on 1st September 2005.
  6. Players may not register for more than one team in each age group.
  7. A team failing to report for kick off within 2 minutes of being called will forfeit the match by a score line of 2 - 0.
  8. League positions for the knock out stages will be decided as follows:
    1. Points scored
    2. Goal difference
    3. Goals scored
    4. Results between the relevant teams
    5. Penalty shoot out between the relevant teams
  9. Substitutes may only enter the field of play with the consent of the match referee. Once a player is substituted or removed the player takes no further part in that match or penalty shoot out.
  10. A player receiving a booking during a game will miss the next game. A player sent off or receiving 2 bookings in the competition will take no further part in the Tournament and will not receive a medal if the team should win them.
  11. Wickham Wanderers will supply the match ball.
  12. In the event of a colour clash the first named team will change or use bibs.
  13. The referee's decision will be final.
  14. Any abuse of the referee and officials by a team's players, coaches or supporters will result in that team being disqualified from the Tournament.
  15. Tournament organisers reserve the right to change any of the rules of the competition and will communicate any changes to all teams at the managers briefings.
  16. In the knockout stages, 2 minutes each way extra time will be played in the event of a draw.
  17. If penalties are then required, 3 are taken by each side and then onto sudden death if required. Only players on the field at the end of extra time can take a penalty. Should all players have taken a penalty and the scores are still level, then players taking a second penalty must do so in the order that the first set of penalties were taken.
Please note that organisers can not be held responsible any injury, theft or damage sustained whilst attending the Tournament.
Please also note that no dogs are allowed on The Triangle Field (Tournament venue).
