Match Two
In the second match the players were Ronan Ford and Harry Gell Midfield, Ellis Hambrecht and Callum Hambrecht Defenders and Cameron Warwick as Goalie. When the second team of boys played the pitch was extremely muddy and very boggy which made things hard for all of them. Ellis passed the ball up the field to a waiting Callum who then received the ball and dribbled it towards the goal only to then have three Oakley players attack him. Ellis did alot of good clearing of the ball to Harry G. Harry G then made a pass to Callum which was intercepted by Oakley. After a few minutes Ronan went into goal for cameron, Ronan was then replaced with a very muddy Mason. The match suddenly became fierce with both teams doing alot of hard tackles which made the other player fall over, all the boys were asked to calm down a bit. Oakley got passed the wickham players to score a superb goal to make the score 1-0 to Oakley. Ronan then did a fantastic save only for the ball to slip out of his hands ( by this time the goalie gloves were extremely wet and muddy) and land in the goal to make the score 2-0 to Oakley at half time. In the second half Harry G was replaced with Robert while the rest of the team stayed the same. Ronan performed some more difficult saves and did some great goal kicks towards Ellis and Callum, who then passed the ball to Robert and Mason. All the boys carried on doing strong tackles and were asked again to calm things down before someone gets hurt. This time the boys did this and things seemed to calm down between the lads. Oakley had a free kick towards the last few minutes of the game, they managed to break free from wickham and scored a goal to make the score 3-0 to them. Mason then gave Oakley a penalty when he tripped up one of their players to make the score 4-0 to Oakley. Robert then came off the pitch as he had mud in his eye and was replaced by Harry H while Mason and Ronan switched places. Ronan got stuck straight into attacking the Oakley players and Harry H backing him up but the boys kept on slipping over in the mud. The final score was 4-0 to Oakley .
Both of the teams gave their all to the matches and got very muddy while doing so. All the boys are remembering what they need to do in their positions, and are all passing the ball to one another. All of the boys today played extremely well especially as they had never played in the mud before. Man of the match was a very hard decision as everyone played exceptionally well, but in the end i made two boys man of the match Harry H as this was his first league playing for us and he really deserved to score a goal and the other man of the match was Muddy Mason Holborn as i felt he deserved this weeks ago but i felt the other players also deserved it.
