7 June 2004: Signing-on Day & AGM

"Signing-on Day", where all players need to re-join the club, will be held at Kintbury Rangers FC on Sunday 27th June, 2pm. As teams need to be registered with their leagues very shortly after this date, it is critical to get as many players registered and fees received as possible.

The club AGM will also be held at the same time. Volunteers are needed to join the committee - please give it a try even if you can't take on a formal officer-post. There will be a BBQ and bar, so it should be plenty of fun and we'll be finished in time to see the Euro 2004 match in the evening. Please make sure you're there!

7 June 2004: Membership Fees set for 2004/2005

At tonight's committee meeting it was agreed that the membership fees will be held at £35 - the same as the past two years. This represents fantastic value as it includes all coaching, kit and match fees. £35 is way below all local clubs. Please make sure you pay promptly - ideally at the signing on day (see story above).

16 May 2004: Successful 6-a-side tournament draws to a close

The final tropihes have been awarded, goal posts packed away and tidying up completed to mark the end of Wickham Wanderer's 10th and possibly most successful 6-a-side tournament.

Over the weekend, around 80 teams from across the local area competed in age groups ranging from Under-7's to Under-16's. Many compliments and positive comments were received and everyone had a great time, especially with the beautiful early summer weather.

Besides the great sportsmanship and socialising, the key reason for the tournament's existance is as the major fund-raising event of the year for the club. This year saw a 25% increase in profits to over £2,600 and all of that money is put directly back into the football teams.

The chairman and entire club wishes to say thank-you to all of the parents and friends that worked so hard (and in the heat!) to make the weekend such a success. It could not have been achieved without so much help let alone been such a success.

So, to all those that helped out in one way or another - THANK YOU! To all the teams that participated, thank you for your attendance and sporting attitudes that made the event a pleasure to host - and make sure you come again next year!

Check back soon for a selection of pictures from the weekend.

Don't forget we need ALL parents to assist even if it's only for a few hours. Make sure you contact your team manager.

If you still need a copy of the entry form it can be found by CLICKING HERE.

12th December 2003: Victorian Shopping Evening

Despite the weather and the disappointing lack of support from parents on the night, the tombola was a great success and raised £135 for club funds. Many thanks to all those that donated prizes and especially to those that got soaked on the evening. These fund raisers may only seem to raise relatively small amounts of money but it is these events that keep the club running and the fees the lowest in the area.
